Cut Away from Realism- Cubist Collage
Cubist collage inspired all types of Modern artists (Pablo Picasso and George Braque at the forefront). It expanded the definition of painting, questioned existing notions of surface and dimensionality, and created a legacy that inspired major movements in art history. In this series students will continue to develop their own artistic voice by exploring working multimedia and abstracting imagery through cubism.

Elementary Homeschool Art: Art on the Scroll – Ancient Chinese Scrolls
FRIDAYS: October 12th, 19th & 26th @ 10:00-11:00 am / Grades 1-6 / All Supplies Included
Art on the Scroll – Ancient Chinese Scrolls
This series will be a study focused on the forms of writing and imagery on ancient Chinese scrolls. Techniques including calligraphy to sumi brush and ink will be studied and practiced. We will look at some of the animals that are commonly depicted on these scrolls and why, as we will also be working on the creation of our own dynamic Chinese inspired scrolls. This series will include a study of the element of art vocabulary, ending with a quiz.

Preschool Homeschool Art: Fun with Sumi!
FRIDAYS: October 12th, 19th & 26th @ 11:00-11:30 am / Ages 4-6 / All Supplies Included
Fun with Sumi!
In this series our little ones will be introduced to new ways of mark making using Chinese sumi brushes and learning a little bit about the animals commonly found in Chinese art.
