2019–2020 HOMESCHOOL ART PROGRAM
NOVEMBER: SURREALISM / RENE MAGRITTE
Our November Homeschool Art Program will focus on instilling a sense of fun and mystery in our art. We will explore surrealism, particularly focusing on the artist Rene Magritte.
Fridays (Class): 11/8/19, 11/15/19, 11/22/19
We’re switching up the schedule this year! Since littles are often up early (too early sometimes, ha!) and teenagers often like to sleep in, we are reversing our class order. Plus, we’re excited to try an additional block of OPEN ART time twice a month just for homeschoolers! Our new schedule:
FRIDAYS—CLASSES (3x/month)
9:30am–10am: Preschool / 10:15–11:15: Elementary School / 11:30–12:30: Middle and High School
PRESCHOOL: Let’s get silly and fill our art with funny surprises! We’ll use collage and other media to mix up excitement this month. Ages 4-6 / All Supplies Included / 9:30 am – 10:00 am
ELEMENTARY: Art can be mysterious, surprising, and fun. We’ll learn about the surrealist movement and incorporate the unexpected into our own work. Grades 1-6 / All Supplies Included / 10:15 am – 11:15 am
MIDDLE/HIGH: Magritte was an artist who toyed with perceptions of reality. We’ll examine his work and others from the surrealist movement and see how they might influence our own ideas. Grades 7 & up / All Supplies Included / 11:30 am – 12:30 pm

NEW! $10 Tuesdays: Open Studio Time for Homeschoolers
Our $10 Tuesdays Homeschool Art open art block will provide extra time for students to work on projects and for additional one-on-one instruction. $10 per one hour of instruction. Please register 24 hours in advance.
