2019–2020 HOMESCHOOL ART PROGRAM
OCTOBER: DRAWING & PAINTING SKILLS/VAN GOGH
Our October Homeschool Art program will focus on technical skills in drawing and painting and include an exploration of the artist Vincent van Gogh.
Fridays (Class): 10/11/19, 10/18/19, 10/25/19
We’re switching up the schedule this year! Since littles are often up early (too early sometimes, ha!) and teenagers often like to sleep in, we are reversing our class order. Plus, we’re excited to try an additional block of OPEN ART time twice a month just for homeschoolers! Our new schedule:
9:30am–10am: Preschool / 10:15–11:15: Elementary School / 11:30–12:30: Middle and High School
PRESCHOOL: Pencils, paints, and markers oh my! Let’s make some marks with a variety of different art media. We’ll focus on line and texture and most of all, fun! Ages 4-6 / All Supplies Included / 9:30 am – 10:00 am
ELEMENTARY: Using acrylic on canvas and paper we’ll focus on art techniques using movement, line, and shape. We’ll explore different drawing media as well to gain control in our work. Grades 1-6 / All Supplies Included / 10:15 am – 11:15 am
MIDDLE/HIGH: We’ll study composition and technique with acrylic on canvas and a variety of drawing media on paper. Vincent van Gogh was an artist whose work improved and expanded over time through effort—he practiced and practiced! Every artist can improve by studying practical techniques. Grades 7 & up / All Supplies Included / 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
